This project demonstrates the production of a short instructional video, including content development, narration, filming, and editing. The instructional goal was to reduce extraneous cognitive load, and the final deliverable was a cooking tutorial developed in iMovie. Grounded in the Principles of Multimedia Design and Cognitive Load Theory, the video was intentionally designed to support learner focus. Creating this video expanded my technical skills in video production and highlighted the critical role of pre-production in designing effective instructional media.

➤ Thoughtful planning played a key role, with storyboarding used to streamline the sequence of ideas and ensure the final video remained focused and under three minutes. I developed an instructional design document to plan the video structure, script, and production workflow.

➤ Supplemental instructional graphics were designed in Canva and strategically integrated into the video to reinforce key concepts, support visual learning, and maintain learner engagement.

➤ During development, special attention was given to organizing content based on evidence-based principles of instructional video design. With iMovie's editing tools, it was easy to align graphics, photographs, and videos with narration to improve learners' comprehension and reduce extraneous processing.
